Until March 30: Big street art exhibition in Paris

The permanent exhibition of Centre Pompidou is now closed for five years, which is a long time. But this is perhaps also a chance for independent artists to conquer new spaces. At the moment, a great street art exhibition (EXPO DES 150) can be seen in Paris, 9th arrondissement. Admission is free, you only have to reserve online. 350 artists are showing their creations in a former telecom building. The walls and floors of the building have been stripped of plaster, offering a wonderfully raw ambience reminiscent of the demolition temples of early rave culture and the techno years in Berlin after the fall of the Berlin Wall.

The exhibition is presented on two floors, showing absolutely amazing and very heterogenous artworks. We noticed the use of many skateboards and road signs as support for paintings on the wall, the personification of spray cans, the use of color gradients and neon colors, the superposition of several layers of wooden reliefs and the transformation of classical works of art history. Many artists are on Instagram, you can check some of them here mentioned in the article of Sortir à Paris.
